I need help on app 3

am i going to change the false in to true....but i dont really know how

Here is a tutorial for apps 3 and 4. It was along time ago i did 8 and 9 so i cant remember them that good. All though i know for 9 u use ollydebug and find the tone numbers for the play button and change the tone value for the indivdual buttons to match the play button

App3

Similar to App2 in it uses the internet site to validate its serial.
This time however it uses a a statement similar to the IF statement
Basically If the serial number is true it will give you the levels password
but if the password is false it will give you an incorrect box. So check out the
website that it checks it against and see what it says and then find a way to
trick the app into thinking the opposite of the the above so. If it is
false it thinks its true.
(remember you will need delete a letter for every letter typed.)

App4
This one you need to know how to add shortcuts in vb.
Basically Once you know how to add them you just open up this app
in a hex editor just like apps 1,2,3 and find the writing on the buttons
and now add that shortcut the writing. (remember you will need delete a letter for
every letter typed.) Once you have added the shortcut open up the app and press alt and the
shortcut you assigned. An underlined letter is a short cut.

well, do you use windows or a *nix machine? for reel i\'m not all that great myself but still if i learnt all tha i did about the php failles in the time that i did i\'m sure that this can\'t be much harder. Myself i\'m on a light-boated

i\'m not a 100% sure but i think that it\'s a javascript injection that should lead someone to your cookie stealer. If my theorie is right it should be somthing in the lines of \" document.location:yoursite.com/stealcookie.php\" and this should be your useragent.further than that i ain\'t found yet. of course that means that you have to have a site up and running. i believe that it\'s possible to do injection like that one using a localhost but i\'m not all that sure yet on how it works exactly..

oh yes thank you very much for your help on the 7. my problem was that i don\'t have powerpoint on this machine so instead of getting a power point file i got a system file. when i opened it with word i saw it. thanks alot!

yes yes! i know that there only one php page that\'ll result in errer message.. okay i don\'t know any site\'s that\'ll explain but i think that i can give you an idea; imagine a php page with the following format:
\'www.somesite.com/index.php?id=89\'
now here what to look for of importance is thie \'?id=89\' which is basically: \'?variable=variante\'
now you can have anything as a variable (hint \'?readpress=\') on this page readpress is a variable. now the question at stake is the variant.. the variant is a presised file to be openned. (ex: \'?readpress=2\').. now you know that the file thats going to be openned is \'2\'. \'2\' exists, imagine what would happen if the variable was reel but not the variant. i don\'t think one can say much more without telling you the answer. ;-) good luck

about the question on the 13:
there are, in this challenge, 2 different variable php pages (if i remember right) and
what you have to try to do is see what happens when give values to these variables that arn\'t really \'sopposed\' to be variables. Now mabey you can give me a hand, on mission 7: i\'ve got the hash, ran it through JTR and got a report sheet, it says at the bottom of the sheet that the hash has been cracked but i don\'t reely see it cracked anywhere on the sheet. thank you in advance
