The CTF hype train is not going to slow down!
We just competed in a very difficult CTF this past weekend (BostonKeyParty), and are eager for more. We have a lot of new faces coming around and several who are new to CTFs and would like to participate. So, we are going to step back on the difficulty a little bit for our next event.
LASACTF is designed for high school level teams. This event has an unusually long event window. This is a great for those of you who want to participate that have busy schedules. We'll be attacking this challenge like we have done all the others in the past by working together for the learning experience. HOWEVER, if the team consists of all high schoolers inside the US you can win prizes. If you decide to compete for prizes we'll set up a private channel for you if requested.
Team sizes can be up to 5 members. Join us in #ctf on IRC to participate with us and request a team to join. Seasoned CTF runners I encourage you to take charge and be team leads for new people.

LASACTF will consist of several dozen problems that gradually increase in difficulty (and point value). The categories will include Binary Exploitation, Algorithms, Reverse Engineering, Cryptography, Web, and others. Some problems can be solved in a matter of minutes, while others may take hours or even days. The source code behind the website and problems will be released after the competition has ended.
UPDATE: We finished in 7th place!
