Dozens arrested in cybercrime "strike week"

In a strike against cybercrime, 56 suspected cyber criminals have been arrested across the UK over the course of one week. Alleged crimes include intellectual property theft, DDoS attacks, and fraud.


Barrett Brown sentenced to 5 years in prison, connection to Stratfor hack

After having been in custody without bail for 28 months, Barrett Brown has been sentenced to 5 years in prison. Brown plead guilty to several charges connected to the 2011 Stratfor hack; The same hack that ended in HackThisSite founder, Jeremy Hammond, receiving a 10 year prison sentence.


Epic Google snafu leaks hidden whois data for 280,000 domains

A defect in Google Apps caused the leaking of private whois data back in 2013. Despite the inherent unreliability of whois data, the issue is still a large concern with over 280,000 domains affected. The particular vulnerability has recently been identified and fixed.


Pinterest starts paying researchers who report vulnerabilities
