The big lie of computer security is that security improves by imposing complex passwords on users. In real life, people write down anything they can't remember. Security is increased by designing for the way humans actually behave. -Jakob Nielsen
Word is out on the street that US House Representative Eric Cantor (R-VA) has "effectively kill[ed]" SOPA. Upon further reading, though, Representative Cantor has done nothing more than delayed when SOPA will reach the House floor until "issues are addressed".
Please note, SOPA is not dead! It is merely delayed, likely until the firestorm against it dies down and they can somehow else sneak it into action. Even worse, Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) intends to move forward with bringing PIPA to the Senate floor on January 24th.
HackThisSite still intends on censoring itself on January 18th to continue raising awareness of these two extremely dangerous Internet censorship bills. Even Wikipedia itself is now onboard with the blackout movement. We still strongly encourage anyone with their own website to use our censorship template (or craft their own) and censor their website as well.
Pass on the word: SOPA is NOT dead, and PIPA is still very much alive. Contact your Congressmen now!
