Hello,

A friend of mine has made a website, but he doubts if it's safe. It is a login-site, made with XHTML 1.0 Transitional.

Now he asked me if I could try to hack his site (so see if I can login by hacking).

The thing is that I don't really know very much about 'hacking' XHTML sites, even if it's possible. I searched a bit on the internet but I didn't find anything.

Do you guys now some sort of guide of this XHTML 'hacking', or can you guys explain it yourselfs a bit?

Many thanks in advance!

Well, I was a bit unclear I think.. I'll post the login source thing:

Code: Select all
<div id="loginbox">
<form action="enter.php" method="post" name="login_form">
<p><span class="fielddesc">Username:</span><br />
<input type="text" name="username" value="" size="40" /></p>
<p><span class="fielddesc">Password:</span><br />
<input type="password" name="password" value="" size="40" /></p>
<button type="submit">Login >></button>
</form>
</div>

<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript">
var uname = document.forms['login_form'].elements['username'];
var pword = document.forms['login_form'].elements['password'];
if (uname.value == '') {
    uname.focus();
} else {
    pword.focus();
}
</script>

Can anyone please help?

XHTML isn't something you can really hack.
Try to google "SQL Injection" and see if you can do anything from that way.

I'm sorry, but I don't see the fun in this topic.
Do you think it is fun to laugh at beginners?

I understand you might laugh, but we have all been noobs..

I did an amount of missions here, so I sort of know how it works, but I need some explanation on this one.. I just want to learn things that can be of value, because eventually I want to build my own website too.

So I ask you: could you please give help in the right direction? I'd really appreciate it.
