Building a new PC using an really old computer

Basically I have this really old pc and I decided to remove all the parts and make a new one. The case size is 13.5'' x 15.75''.

The board that the mobo is supposed to fit is 10'' x 12.5''.

So here I am, should I do this or not ?

I dont want to make a super computer, I want to make a decent pc which can support old RPG games like lineage 2 without having any problem with heating and at the same time not spending too much money.

Maybe I will take some pictures and upload it in case it will help you give me ideas of what I should actually do

Why did you post 3 of the same pictures? Yeah go for it, but I don't understand why you are asking us. Upgrading is always great.

Btw it`s three different pictures, I dont understand why you see only 1 , maybe try to change picture from the top "first" "Second" "third" options.

The reason I ask this is because it`s really the first time I going to make a pc.There are loads of guides out there but I am a bit scared because I am thinking of whether motherboard will fit in this case , or how I will make a good air flow etc.

I am thinking of buying second hand Items from ebay/amazon and see how it works.

But at the same time, I am not sure if I am just going to waste money and create something that will not be working properly.

I was also thinking to create some surfaces which will close the case with big fans to create a good air wave

In what did you post in the pics this means you have the case, buying the pieces second hand will not give you insurance that those pieces will break(I think you should buy new ones with warranties)

A mother board that supports a dual core or more with DDR2 or 3 support, and PCI Express, minimum a dual core CPU, and a good video card, and a source that will support that board.

I suggest buying those parts with warranties instead of buying then second hand(old parts could break, or are damaged), if the items are old or old models usually cost more then a new model part in the magazine(Ex: SDRAM > DDR1 > DDR2).

If you want lineage 2 to work this are the lowest that I know it works:
Mother board G31M-ES@L(with onboard video, intel G31/G33, card new games will work, lineage 2 will work, big lag in some towns, if you end up in newbie town you will not be able to login, client will crash)
Intel Dual CPU E2140
2GB Ram DDR2
ATI Radeon X1650(in my opinion this is the minimum video card you could use, had no problem with L2 and DC Universe, played the game with medium/high setting).

You could make a PC to work with low specs, with less then 200$

Ghost said it well; what will you do if it breaks?

Hey guys.

Because I live in a country which cost a lot to order from another county I search a bit and I try to figure out the cheapest and availiable things that I can buy. I want you to confirm me if this combination would perform normally.

Here it is :

65euro HDD:Kingston SSDNow V200, 64GB, 2.5", SATA-600, SV200S37A/64G

30euro Power supply: Inter-Tech SL-550W - Power supply 120MM 20+4PIN 3XSA

22euro DVD BURNER: Sony Optiarc DDU1681S - Disk drive - DVD-ROM - 18x - Serial ATA - internal - 5.25" - black

134euro CPU: Processor - Intel Core i3 2100 / 3.1 GHz - LGA1155 Socket - L3 3 MB - Box

33euro RAM: DDR3 1333 MHz 2GB 240 DIMM VS2GB1333D3 (X2)

50euro MOBO MSI H61M-P20 (G3), Motherboard, FlexATX LGA1155 Socket, H61, onboard graphics (CPU required)

This comes to an ammount of 335 euros

What do you think ? Also what mistakes you see when it comes more generally... too much RAM or something ?
