Ubuntu is the tip of the sword for linux outreach. People would do better to criticize it less and help newbies to embrace it more.

Oh, no, no, I'm not saying Ubuntu is bad, but for someone of ScrAm's expertise and caliber, he does NOT need to be using Ubuntu. I wholeheartedly agree that Ubuntu is a GREAT way to introduce newbies into Linux, but it should not be used for anything serious beyond that.

Since I see this post straying off topic, I may as well add to it. I've seen some benchmarks between ubuntu and windows XP which were quite surprising. Windows XP was always on top heh.

So yeah, anyone who feels they can handle a different distro should do so, because ubuntu is not that powerful.
