this is what i have been ably to come up with that is close, to what he had done.

Code: Select all

<script type="text/javascript">
function message()
{
alert ("this the message you have opened.")
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<form>
<input type="button"  value="click here to open the message" />
</form>
</body>
</html>

the place i went to to learned this was.

i want to be ably to do what he had done. yet i can't seem to do it.

so could you please help me?

i use bluefish editor and then copy and paste the stuff to notepad.

i am using ultimate edition 1.8, if that has anything to do with it.

Java != Javascript

As for why your code doesn't work, you didn't do the onClick attribute.

([msg=10028]see Re: simply java code help[/msg])

Code: Select all
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
function message()
{
alert ("this the message you have opened.")
}
</script>
</head>
<body>
<form>
<input type="button"  value="click here to open the message" onClick ="message()">
</form>
</body>
</html>

Use that.
That is what the guy in the video typed.

This is what not to do, asking for help typing out example code then acting surprised when typing it correctly works.
