I used comand "ls" and found:

how exactly did you do that?
if I type

-ls
ls

or anything like that, nothing happens at all, It just says my name is three characters =/.

Took me ages to figure this out and I had it right all along. Just so you have the right syntax to use after the ls comes ../ not just .. and with that information I'll leave you to it.

"Show me how to hack in ftp" What the heck are you talking about?? FTP is like Filezilla and WinSCP and others. It is for uploading and downloading off websites that you have an FTP account on. There's not really anything you can do with it unless you have the username and password for an account.
Oh, and no.

"and show me xxs" No. Look it up. I know ha.ckers.org has a good article on it - http://ha.ckers.org/xss.html -- and remember that you are agreeing to the Terms Of Service (comperr finally got them up. ) when using information found on this site. (including this info.)

Alright. So, I'm in the deepest directory... now the question is, what do I have to do to get into the shallower ones?

Ok I am stuck. I have worked on this for a couple of hours. I am most likely trying way too hard. Anyway, I know the command to pull up the file names in shtml but thats as far as I can get. I am still trying to figure out were the var file comes into play. I here the help about changing the directories but I cannot figure it out. Can anyone offer any pointers that aren't already listed on this forum, Thanks
