Basic Mission 3

I'm really stuck on this mission iv tried heaps of different approaches but none are working. I am a noob so bear with me,
i have tried
this

to this
<input type="shown" name="file" value="password.php">
don't think that did any thing. i have tried http//:www.hackthissite/basic/4/password.php someone told me to try that... didn't work
i believe my problem is i know there's a hidden file there but i don't know how to view it even when i put it thru note book
i dont know where to go from here. any help would be welcom

to this <input type="show" name="file" value="password.php">
i believe my problem is after i copy the source to notepad i don't know how to go about viewing a hidden file. i have also tried this by recommendation from someone else http//:www.hackthissite/basic/3/password.php.com
that didn't get me any where. can someone plz elaborate on what I'm so obviously doing wrong

I have no idea, why would U like to change the path to the page, the page is on the server, that means it's pernamently there, more or less.
U' re looking at the right line, so think what the whole form does

Well I got different kind of a problem, it's an easy mission, finding password is simple, but when I copy the password in or type it and then click SUBMIT, well nothing happened, like the page just reloaded! Any sugestions?

I'm new too this but I'm a quick learner. I had no problem with mission 1 and 2 but seem to be stumped by 3. I'm studying the tutorials on html, is there a certain part of html i should know in order to complete this mission?

thx for any help given on this test, once i figured out where i was going wrong it was a simple matter of cut and past. lvl4 here i come lol

You don't have to change anything on this mission.

This mission is about the basics of how password scripts work.

And again, please make sure that you're opening level three by clicking on the text "Level 3" and NOT the associated icon. For some reason (only for level 3) the two are different. That may or may not make a difference for you.
