This thread seems to be pretty old and I'm struggling to find a working hash cracker for Mac that supports md4. I'm fairly new to hacking so if someone could advise me on the best hash cracker for Mac with md4 support that would be cool.

Thanks

Use hashcat: https://hashcat.net/hashcat/#features-algos

No idea about OSX other than its an BSD clone, but you should be able
to compile it on there i guess unless apple got the same policy on their
computers as they got on their phones.

Cool, I got hashcat and I have it working and everything but the problem I'm facing is, exactly how many wordlists might I download before I hit upon the right pwd? And I doing it the right way? This is the command I'm running:

Code: Select all
./hashcat-cli64.app -m 900 --outfile=output.txt --remove hashes.txt wordlists/

This works for know passwords, but obviously not for new passwords. Any help?
