Problems with Kali on the Raspberry pi

So I just got my pi a few weeks ago, funny story when I got it I realized I needed a keyboard and I didn't have one. Two weeks later I got the keyboard and started using Raspbian and then decided to download kali to it. After the install and a long boot up it was working like a charm and I was happy since I can use kali and its tools for learning purposes, but after i shutdown the pi and later decided to reboot it, but the screen was black once i logged in. So i waited and waited and it still didn't boot up so i restarted it a few more times, but still nothing. I decided to re-install it but it would work the first time you boot it, but on the second try it would stay black. I can still use the command line in the start up, but that's about it. I was wondering if anyone has downloaded kali to a b+ pi and had the same problem?

I do not, but there's a few things I would try. First time execution usually includes updating settings, making changes to how you want to run the OS, getting the latest updates of the OS and setting e.g. the X-server to run automatically on boot. Did you try using all the default settings, boot without access to Internet (if updates are the problem) or running a live version of the OS instead? Try running startx the first time you log in to determine if the X-server is to blame. Lastly, did you look for similar problems others have (probably as it's the first thing anyone should do, but asking to be certain)? Other than that I don't think I can help much, I don't own that one.

Sorry for the late reply, ive tried everything and there was hardly any help online believe it or not,but i don't feel at a total loss. I'm still happy with just being able to use the commandline to do certain things for now, but i might find some alternatives later. Also the funny thing i noticed is that most people who've posted videos for installing kali to their pi use the b, but im not sure if thats the problem, but anyway thanks for your help :D .

I know someone else, and probably others have had dificulties using kali on a B+ version of the pi, i have not put kali onto my pi but it is just a B model.

If you look around you will find others having problems, but maybe not the same one.
