Final year project ideas?

Hey guys I'm looking for a few ideas for my final year project at uni and am really interested in security and software development.
I've been looking on google for some ideas and I can't seem to find many that tie the two together!
I know Java and am willing to learn other languages e.g python.

If you have any ideas please drop them in a reply :D
Thanks

I'm not sure what your requirements are, but how about something related to intentional code obfuscation? I did a quick database search and found a number of peer-reviewed journal articles on the topic. Many discussed specific obfuscation strategies while others explored the implications of such coding. Good luck!

Although it's not necessarily Java or Python, you could always create a website. It can be pretty fun and not too complex. Especially with some of the hosting utilities and website frameworks out there nowadays, you could knock something pretty sexy out in a couple of weeks (days if you're fluent enough).

You could get a Raspberry Pi and set it up as a security camera. The GPIO pins on the Pi are open to anything really. From making an LED blink on and off forever to something more complex.
In training....
