Your silliest skiddie mistakes

Since we all had to begin somewhere i figured it would be funny to share your most awful rookie mistakes.

I remember when i was younger (almost a decade ago now!) and IRC botnets were the "hot shit", i got a hold of rbot.
But before compiling it you had to fill in your IRC channel and password for the bot to connect to.
The public IRC servers would ban you for this, so i figured "f**k this shit! I'm hosting my own IRC server".
I shared my rbot build using p2p disguised as aimbots for cs 1.6, because back then to install malware on a cheater's computer seemed to be something that was OK to do (In retrospect invading on someone's privacy is really a sick thing to do, even if they are cheating bastards, and i got bored of it pretty fast).

Anyway, later on a friend showed me how he opened my exe in a hex editor and it displayed my IP and IRC info in plaintext...I guess i don't have to explain why this is really bad haha.

I still consider myself a skiddie, but this was in my earlier days. I had just gotten kali linux and was playing with every tool with a cool name (ie. Crunch, Aircrack, John, Hashcat, ect.). I fired up ettercap and did a ping scan and saw all 100+ computers in the private dorm I lived in on the network. Being the idiot I was (and because I had success on my own private networks before) I decided to do an arp poisoning mitm attack on a friends computer after his agreeing to let me and giving me his IP on the network.

Did you know commercial switches can detect arp poisoning? Of course you all do, but I didn't.

No internet in my room for 12 hours after that lol.
Program your brain, or someone will do it for you.

about 3 months ago, I bricked my perfectly good Samsung galaxy s2. got a new phone and decided to experiment with the old. Got root and decided to install another OS, barely followed instructions, like how hard could it be. Nope

Then I proceeded to brute force all the options I had available until I had none.

I'm working on it but I still am a bit of a skiddie. But either way, not too long ago I was messing with Meterpreter. I got a friend to agree to download a TCP payload. I created the payload with Veil and all was good but when I sent him the file nothing happened. I checked everything and I couldn't find the problem. Eventually I realized that I accidentally put my LOCAL IP instead of my public IP into the payload. And I felt like the largest idiot for about a week after doing that.

Back when I was a DarkComet wielding, Crypter hunting n00b I managed to accumulate over 2000 pounds worth of virtual gold which I could have sold to gold sites. I used to take my loot for the week and gamble it in the dicing clans in-game (I knew they were fixed but I had an addiction :? ) each time I got cleaned I swore to myself that I wouldn't go back to the clans. That was over when the week's loot came in and not being pleased with the amount that I had; I inevitably ended up back in the casino and clean by the next week. God knows how much I'd have made if I hadn't have been such a gambling addict.

Nearly 20 years ago I joined a hacker group with my skiddie skillsets of website defacing, limited C skills, and knowing how to use an open SMTP relay to spoof e-mails... As a group we managed to cause a lot of damage, but we also bragged too much about it... then one of us got caught because his hacker handle matched his handle on a telnet talker and the admins gave up his user info, then we all fell like dominos. Lesson: don't brag.

One of the first scripts I wrote included my name (unintentionally of course). You can guess the rest...

I had a server I only had SSH access to. I tried to set up port knocking on the server, but I messed up somewhere. Long story short, I couldn't open up the SSH port and couldn't access the machine via SSH anymore.

Me:
ssh pi@LocalNetworkThroughEth0
sudo ifdown eth0
lost connection with host
rinse and repeat

I think you just use the wrong casinos for your game. You can’t be completely secure from the fact that they will take money from you, so it’s best to use the site https://super10casinolist.com where you can always get information for yourself only about reliable resources and gaming gambling sites
