Im currently using M$ Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit

Honesty I like it. At first I didnt like it (comming from WinXP) but its grown on me. But for "hacking" I'm pretty sure Linux owns.

I use Windows Xp, but with a lot of programs covering it up. I've had Windows Xp as long as I've had a computer and I'm getting sick of it.

I don't have a machine of my own (due to space requirements), but my university gives out laptops to every student. No problems there. It comes loaded with Vista Ultimate and a few other toys for "learning". Machine's fairly robust for the average student (d00d I got a D3ll...*sigh*) :geek: But as long as it'll run virtualbox, I'm happy. I've got Vista as my main with my virtualization software running a copy of ubuntu, whatever live disks I want, and soon a copy of XP (I just couldn't let it go *sniffles*).

By the way, it seems like a lot of you are using dual-boots (which I admire) but I've yet to see a lot of virtualization going on. Is there a reason for it? Something that I'm missing? Oh well, to each their own :D

And for you Mac people out there...how goes it? I hear both good and bad things but have yet to get my hands on a copy of leopard :P

I know...dead thread...but I had to give my $00.02

I'm using Windows XP, Linux Mint, and Backtrack 4 Beta.

I cannot give up gaming, and my video hardware isn't exactly well supported (barely at all) in Linux, so gaming through WINE is slow at best. So I keep a copy of Windows XP to be able to play the games with my hardware actually supported.

I have Linux Mint installed in a "distro testing" partition. I quite like how everything works out of the box, so I keep it on there for troubleshooting purposes. Not to mention, it's extremely stable, and so schoolwork is usually done here.

And I absolutely love Backtrack 4. They say it isn't really stable as yet, but that's pretty much false. You have to manually install it, but it's simple enough. I use this for lots of "fun stuff", basically meaning hacking, and computer "fun" in general.

Computer:
Dell XPS R400 SE440BX-2 motherboard

Enjoy your two gigs of RAM with your "hacking programs".

Linux is superior. It is safer, faster, and it has a more intelligent community. What else does it need?
