I haven't tried it and don't plan to. It's made by Microsoft.

I tend to avoid Winblows whenever possible, but that's impossible if you want to play games. I use 32-bit build 7201, and I've found Windows 7 to be a huge improvement on Vista (which made me want to die). It's faster, less error-prone, and far nicer to use from what I've seen, and much more like XP, which IMHO is a far superior OS to Vista.

In fact, the only problem I've encountered so far is an incompatibility with online games running Punkbuster anti-cheat software, including the Battlefield series, but this is (surprisingly enough) not actually Microsoft's fault: Punkbuster are just too lazy to bother adapting their software for use on the beta version.

Oh and one other slightly strange thing I've noticed... On some websites that try to check my OS, it shows up as Windows NT. Weird. :shock:

@Spectre557

NT is just a label meaning 'not on top of DOS' among other things. Vista and XP are in the NT line as well.

I wouldn't try it, most likely opens up a new whole host of bugs and problems that Microsoft will ignore or release yet another version for more money.

I'd go with an iMac or a Linux operating system if I were you, I think Windows XP was the last good, compatible operating system that Microsoft pushed out. Just my opinions though, but if you want to check out Linux, check out Ubuntu or Mint Linux. Great OS's.

I also remember reading an article a couple months back stating that Windows 7 could possibly be the last Windows project Microsoft comes out with. So if you never liked Windows or want to get something new, check out the Linux distros or the iMac, just remember iMac's are quite expensive.

They're also (largely) closed source and, something that mac-users try to ignore, have tons of security vulns themselves. Stick with Linux or true BSD.

OSX is a true BSD and has a stellar security profile compared to Windows :)

I don't know about you tgoe, but I think that there's not as many security problems with OSX because no one cares to exploit or find anything wrong with them. Plus there's no right click, what's up with that :cry: haha.
