Just a note for all the others trying them: 5 is the hardest, followed by 1. After that, the others are pretty much the same level of difficulty (except 2, depending on tools used)

Yeah, that information was more useful than the hint... There should be a disclaimer for that mission :)

I, too, have tried all eight possibilities but none of my solutions are accepted.

Anyone who had this problem and found a solution, would you please post me a hint.

well..... I am really new to HTS. I went through the basic missions pretty easily. I know what Steganography is so I figured I would try the missions.... so I started with mission one and am already stuck.. I have absolutely no clue where to even start... would anyone help me?

Yes, try another of the stegos...

These are not sorted by difficulty, and the first one is the second hardest... (hardest = 5)

well i found the encoded data, and tried all eight variants, but none of them worked... i must be missing something, but i can't figure out what it is. can anyone point me in the right direction?

Just take a look at your result with the one thing missing. You should be able to guess where it should be to make a valid solution.

well that's just it, i was able to add one thing and get only plaintext as a result, but aparently that's not the answer...
