I may have solved it differently than intended. Is anyone around who might be able to confirm I've actually found it and may just need to use different techniques?

As for me, when I solved this mission, I had to take note the the second post was most likely made when the Wkipedia entry was at this state https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=JPEG&oldid=720533298. As of the time of this writing, the Wikipedia entry still has the info on it, but this is for if it gets very heavily modified.

Greetings all,
First post for help so far. Reading through the forums seems to do the trick most times :D

Anyways I get the ideas of what I need to do to accomplish the end of this mission. I just am not familiar with any of the tools needed. Or perhaps I am on the wrong path all together.

Any ideas for me please?

Just wanted to say this was a fun mission. I got VERY distracted with the encoding process of JPEG images using DCT, figured that'd be the thing to look into... it wasn't haha. Though, this mission did send me through the looking glass, it equally gave me a very valuable insight as to how to determine if a JPEG has been edited.

Good luck to anyone trying this! Believe me, it's not impossible, I dug into it for about 6 hours before making any real progress, so don't feel discouraged :D

I'm not going to spoil anything, but a quick google search with the right keywords might help you. It was just trial and error after that.
