Re: Hacking For Dummies - good/bad for beginners?

Thanks, but judging by the other replies, I think it'll only slow my training down. Plus, I'd rather not resort to downloading pirated books unless I have to.

Re: Hacking For Dummies - good/bad for beginners?

Right. The first few basic missions were extremely easy for me, even with my limited HTML knowledge, but as soon as there started becoming other skill requirements, such as JavaScript, I had no idea what to do. So I can see how programming knowledge is important. Right now, though, I'm just trying t...

Re: I want to learn - I have learned  Topic is solved

I want to become knowledgeable of hacking topics in general. Before I become an expert in any language, program, or OS, I want to learn what all the acronyms mean, what the things they stand for actually do, etc. Then I'll decide what I want to master first. (I've already chosen a few.) I want to le...

Re: Hacking For Dummies - good/bad for beginners?

What about website security, though? Even if website security systems aren't specifically written in HTML, don't I need HTML knowledge to know where the security systems will be placed in the page source?

Re: Good web hosts (preferably free)?

bshellz seems like kind of a pain. I can't get onto their IRC channel, plus their method of registering and "keeping" your username also seems unnecessarily hard. Is 110MB just as good?

Good web hosts (preferably free)?

I'd like recommendations for good hosts that will give me complete control over the design of my site (problem with Free Webs, Yola, Wix, etc. is that you have to use their site-builders). It would also be nice if they're free or at least low-cost. I just want to make a site so I can keep practicing...

Re: Hacking For Dummies - good/bad for beginners?

Thanks for such a helpful reply! My problem with HTML is I always forget it after I learn it. I usually learn it pretty good and then forget everything because I have nowhere to practice it. Do you have any suggestions? Also, as for learning how to program, I've been slowly learning C#, and I figure...

Re: Quantum Physics

i first discovered it and immediately found it interesting in a movie called "what the BLEEP do we know, down the rabbit hole." it was pretty crazy discussed several different, experiments/applications/theories throughout the movie. That thing has been sitting on a shelf in my living room...
