Re: HELP

Yeah it's not worth getting butthurt because of a game. I used to hack my uncles private Lineage II server to make myself a GM when he was on holiday. Even that caused mega disruptions. Man I was addicted to that game. If you are really really keen, you will find out how to do it. If it can be done ...

Re: Must have knowledge of Linux/Unix

After digging more and more yesterday, I do realise why it's used in server environments. I'd use it myself if my boss wasn't such a Windows fag. Don't understand it thus we're not using it. I have Ubuntu on my laptop and I installed Kali in VirtualBox on my main laptop last night. I bought a few bo...

Must have knowledge of Linux/Unix

See it in job adverts more and more in IT these days. Partly I reckon that it's put in there to scare folk off. Anytime I've installed Linux It's been fairly easy to use. I put it akin to using MacOS to be honest. So what's the big deal? ( I actually prefer Linux to Windows these days) What should a...

The way things are going it's going to be illegal to login to a service over HTTPS.

Re: Recommended HTML, Javascript, PHP and SQL books?

There's a lot you can learn about js, python and SQL from the CodeAcademy. It's exercise based learning practical on the site. Dead useful. There's nowt a lot to learn about HTML these days as there's hardly much of it in use. It's all CSS styling done in sites. I'd say the practical exercises on th...

Re: CEH path

I'm not currently in a security position. I'm trying my hardest to educate them to take security seriously but it's falling on deaf ears at the moment. The same folk who decide this stuff are the folk still sending CC info across emails with the CSC codes in the emails along with all the other info....

Re: CEH path

Thanks. I readily follow feeds on Flipboard on toilet time lol.

I'll keep my eye out on those too cheers. It's all very well being shown the ins and out via official lines of enquiry, but, we all know it's an ever changing world.

Re: Could my BSoD Error be due to my 16GB RAM?

My first thought would be to do a BIOS upgrade if it's available. If your RAM was at fault you'd get bleep errors on POST, reseating RAM can do the world of good sometimes. Are they matched pairs, and if so are they in the right coloured slots for the pairs? Without knowing more, it's hard to troubl...

CEH path

Hey folks, Only just found this site today. I've been a school IT guy for the last 8 years. Standard Windows domain, Cisco wired and wireless N network and all that. I've noticed the increase in pupils trying to circumvent network security, trying to get past filters etc. Also noticed a number of th...
