Just unbelievable

Luckily I'm an IT admin and have access to lots of resources, DMZ servers, outside facing exchange servers and the like. As I'm growing with this Pen testing track my curiosity takes over. I asked the powers that be if I could play around with the network to test it's security and was given free roa...

Re: tool to see what attacks will work on my router on kali?

For better to learn what encryption method your router is using. PSK, TKIP, AES or what. Learn what those things do, their vulnerabilities are and try to hack it yourself. Learning about encryption methods has really opened my eyes to what I can and can't do. Be prepared though. When you see a bigge...

Re: Problems with harrassing messages

Someone once told me to never lower yourself to an internet trolls level. They'll just beat you with experience. I used to do it a lot in my Lineage II private server days. The things I used to say to folk who flamed me was off the chart, but to be honest, I was just really pissed off with my life a...

Re: what is the answer to this security question

I think it's useful to use anything that works, however, they market it in such a way that it's the be all and end all of wireless cards. My old Dell laptop from 7 years ago has a pretty good wireless card in it. Better than my new Asus laptop has now. I also don't think they have done a very good j...

Re: France banning Tor?

The world doesn't want the people waking up and thinking for themselves. Least of all actually having privacy to do so. That film Equilibrium is a scary thought but they are trying hard to get it that way.

Re: what is the answer to this security question

I signed up to that Hak5 forum too and to be honest it kind of feels like a bunch of folk who like talking about hacking from what they watch in videos and read on Flipboard. Some folk also come away with some really out there answers to simple questions. They also seem to be totally obsessed with t...

Re: Feels like I'm gaining ground

I think you need to be mad keen to learn it too. Currently going over cryptography and while I shunned it at the beginning for being too hard, I feel I'm understanding the basic concepts so far. Caesar cipher, frequency fingerprinting and polyalphabetic methods being rather interesting at first glan...

Re: Problems with harrassing messages

Never once seen anyone take up anything like this on here. It's not really the place for asking folk to attack someone. Saw a lot of that sort of chat on 8chn right enough. Usually comes with a fee. A bit of footprinting for 5 mins shows humanitarian work, self employed and nothing really out of ord...

Re: INSANE PROBLEM! TRIED TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO FIX ETHERNET!!!

I'd honestly scrap using Windows for any of this sort of stuff. I went to Kali on a doner laptop and it's been a breath of fresh air to use. The control you have in terminal is great.

Re: folder sharing

The real life analogy is you taking a box from one home to another with the contents of the box being your data. You can choose for it to be open by way of using the paths provided outside your house and everyone can see you moving the box from one house to another, or you can use an underground tun...
