Re: Where to get started?

Also http://www.codecademy.com is good it covers javascript and the basics of the web, aside from the courses, it's also good to just test out code to see what happens. Getting a free hosting service and setting up a website is good too, so you can see how the directories are layed out, ...

Re: hacker movies?

I like Wargames and Tron but my favourites are ghost in the shell moves and all series ha. Actually, the list is too big. Thinking about this reminded me of Silent Running, even though it doesnt really have a story related to hacking or the others, it really is up there in terms of nostalgia and awe...

Re: prog 4

This is a tricky one for me, i did one half ok in c++ with cimg... but drawing arcs with it is a nightmare. so i compiled it and made a bash script to pass the output image to python using pygame, and as i suspected, the arcs were messed up too... Has anyone done the arcs right in it either in c++ o...

Have you seen a bug like this before?

It's an odd one so I will make up and example, it's when people talk about computers or tech like this, eg; I'm awfully concerned about the consequences of immediately installing a solid state drive to replace my much appreciated, faithful and humble storage medium – the untiring work horse that is ...

Re: I Want To Pull A Prank...

In the mean time, while you're reading up on vnc etc, the best and most simple prank for me is setting their desktop wallpaper as their desktop, because it's dumb but funny to see the reaction.

Re: Programming 2

To break down the picture i chose the cimg library and converted it to txt, so i could see in the file what was being changed each time;

Code: Select all
void convertimg(){
CImg<unsigned short> img("PNG.png");
    img.save_ascii("hi5.txt"); // HTS PROG MISSION 2

}

Re: Illegal Vs Unethical

The second thing you did is kind of grey, but I can understand why you did it. But in general it's best not to react like this straight away with stuff you disagree with. I remember ages ago finding the cctv feed of school from inside the network, and I'm lucky I was not suspended - that could be yo...

Re: [payment] Job for an experienced PHP hacker

It's cool I believe you, it's just that I recall a few scenarios when someone was asked to test their website and they were then sued haha

Anyway, hope it turns out ok

Re: Questions about the HTS missions

I like the programming and stego missions best, even though there's a few that i've half finished. But for programming it's no harm to study from a mixture of books, online examples and tutorials on specific things, I guess you're already doing that anyway though. And for functions in certain websit...

Re: [payment] Job for an experienced PHP hacker

This reminds me, the day before april fools somone posted on my profile here asking for paid work, I never responded because I don't really trust these requests.

There are companies you can go to with reputations for this
