Re: John the Ripper Utilization of Specific Cores

Interesting topic. I was just chatting with a colleague about how programming in asm is useless in this day and age. We have code loop optimisation and cache hitting and architecture optimisation but what really broke the camels back according to him was the addition of cores and the ability to opti...

Re: Olly breakpoints not working as expected

Haven't used Olly since I was 3 but there's some sanity checking you can do. Create your own binary that just loops with no exit and try and gain flow control, or Put a break point on the program entry to guarantee it gets hit, or edit the code to force a jump or loop. All hacks just to make sure Yo...

Re: A Hackers Beginner Guide

I need more specific guidance, I'm here to learn as much as possible but I'm quite lost. Any help would be h...

Re: how to trace intruders ip

Can you hit the screen shot key to get an idea of what’s happening on the command prompt? Is it the same deal with YouTube? Or do you get a chance to read that?

Re: IP location query

You can look up the keywords “ipv6 geolocation” The first bunch of numbers are manufacturer specific and it can be traced to a certain extent but not as easy as an isp lease pool. When you ask about the logins coming from the same network router, do you have administrative access to this router? Rou...

Re: Word List

In my experience, there aren’t any “special” elite wordlists out there. At least in the sense that memory and bandwidth is cheap so hackers would scrape everything under the sun and chuck it into a text file. Anything will do, maybe focus on permutation options and jazz. Then again I’ve been out of ...

Re: Skype question

I have little practical experience in doxing and stuff but in theory, an ip could easily just be routing traffic. For a couple of dollars, I could easily set up a bunch of tunnels on a server In America and spoof my location. Actually look at the i.p address and see who owns it, for what purpose. Al...

Re: Help wanted in tracking down scammer

So a detective who no doubt has contacts and resource leverage in the executive and judicial branches suggested you solicit what you acknowledge is a criminal act, from strangers on the internet, or obtain instruction in order to do it yourself.

Correct me if I miss read this situation.
