Re: How to Stop a DoS attack help?

Try requesting an IP change from your hoster. There is also some item you can download named Zblock that is supposed to help with security.

If you are experiencing a DoS attack then try blocking the incoming IP, if you're getting DDoSed then probably look into switching providers.

Re: What Should I Do With Old Servers?

You could of course use it as a pen testing environment as well. In fact, you could rent it out as a pen testing environment or make it private/invite only. Make a virtual instance of DVL and another (or many) of BackTrack and let people use it for pentesting or other rooting challenges. There's an...

Re: What Should I Do With Old Servers?

Leasing them out never crossed my mind, that sounds like a great idea. If I bought the cabling, switch, router and a 10U rack, I could potentially rent the thing out to some buddies for their practices.

In this scenario wouldn't you want to flood them with UDP? Since TCP is sent reliably wouldn't this slow down the progress of overloading a server; compared to UDP which will keep sending regardless of packet completion?

Currently I have CentOS 6.3 loaded on one R200 and the other two have no OS installed. T...

Re: 7 years of torment

Get the Note II, comes with a built in call blocking feature. Look up the most recent laws of the FDCPA and see if their calling breaches any of those rules set in place, you could be owed $1000.
