For now I'm not in college. If I'm to know networking inside out and such, and don't have anyone to work with, are there any books to read, programs to download or such to help me learn? I just downloaded GNS3 graphical networking simulator for ubuntu, and I'm going to order a book for that because ...

Recommended classes...

I'm going to college and I would like to do security for companies against hackers, by becoming one virtually. I'm not sure the college counselor knows what classes are good, and if anyone could toss me a few bones, it'd be appreciated. :mrgreen:

love this book. I knew nothing of programming and assembly before this, but with a few re-reads... ok Alot of re read pages, I'm getting it. Good book =]
