Re: Programming 8

As far as I know php, python and perl. Im using perl for my bot. Not sure if you can use any other language. Any language that can do socket programming can be used to complete this mission. Quite a broad list actually. I started out using perl for my bot- worked great up until the kick(), some rea...

Re: Prog 5: fixing the corrupt file

I tried to corrupt a large bz2 compressed png file and all Nancys (including Nancys who had one Ronald already) got an additional Ronald. Then I tried a simple text file and the transfer added another Ronald to every Ronald and Nancy pair too. I'm using FTP client from windows xp and pure-ftpd serv...

Re: Permanent Programming #6

I wonder if anyone managed to to this with php, I am using the OCR approach, everything is working fine (even though it doesn't always get each and every character correctly). as acskurucz said I have one major problem, it takes too long to rotate the image. I only rotate the image 8 times, but it ...

Re: Programming 10

Thanks acskurucz! Shit, didn't even try this way. Ok, I think I'm back on track (now I'm in the same position as dwmead03, with 32-byte hash). EDIT: Just finished the mission. acskurucz, thanks again. Well crap. Now I feel dumb. I'm still stuck on this hash. I'm assuming is a SHA256 hash and I'm ha...

Re: Programming 8

To those having problems trying to kick moo out of #takeoverz and completing the mission. Make sure you don't leave #perm8 whenever you go to #takeoverz. Took me an hour to figure that out.

Re: Programming 7

actually i used the background. what you tried was close to the right method, but you should have filtered the text. but what did you use? i can't imagine. I still don't understand how I was supposed to do it with just the background. I tried only using the pixels to the right of the password data ...

Re: Permanent Programming #6

I believe MrRubix was correct in saying this is the hardest mission on the entire site! I am very curious as to how the one's who have solved have solved it as well as the number of people that have solved it. Just writing a program to find the center of the spiral and rotate to grab each letter in ...

Re: Programming 10

I guess I can repeat whole procedure a couple of times, which will in the end give me hash with 22 characters. Then what? Or maybe there is some other thing I can do with what I found? BTW, how can I be sure I have correct data? It is a hash made of hexadecimal numbers with length of 88 characters....

Re: Programming 10

I found hash 88 characters long. This can't be right. The mission instructs us to brute force hashes we find in each step. I haven't heard for algorithm that creates hashes 88 characters long (except for cold fusion according to google, which seems incorrect btw). Am I on the right track? There is ...
