Re: Ability to believe your own lie

He still could have been simply lying. When someone makes an accusation that rings true, one usually responds with hostility. It's similar to a cornered animal going from its usual skittish state to an aggressive, fight-to-the-death state. Good point, didn't think about it like that. I thought it w...

Re: Ability to believe your own lie

I think putting yourself in the position of someone who is telling the truth, and actually believing your own lie, are very different. Good point, what I'm thinking of is definitely the former. I still know at the back of my mind that I'm lying but on the forefront of my mind I'm assuming the role ...

The XBox 360 Hacking Thread

First time I discovered the fact that games consoles are severely limited by default was when I bought a Nintendo DS and ordered an adapter that let me access MicroSD cards. Suddenly I was able to read ebooks, look at pictures, watch videos, listen to music, play homebrew games, use various apps lik...

Re: html

With javascript you can change the values of form fields but the other day I was trying to find a way to change the values of HTML elements so I could read the text on a webpage with a shitty colour scheme but I couldn't find a way to do it. I don't know javascript though so I can't tell you if it c...

Ability to believe your own lie

In my country, to buy painkillers that actually work you have to talk some bullshit to the pharmacist because new regulations brought in a few months ago allows them to refuse to sell them to someone if they believe they don't need them so I've had a good few opportunities to test my deception skill...

Paranoid Linux

I read about paranoid linux in Little Brother so I looked it up but http://paranoidlinux.org/ is down and this wiki page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tinfoil_Hat_Linux claims that it is no longer maintained. Dealing with authority figures

I found this video on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfQrDK9YHas This is an inspirational video and its pretty educational too. I would have turned off the camera the second they asked me to because I wouldn't have known that they weren't telling me the truth when they said "its an offe...

Finding fingerprints of hacker

Since I was in college I haven't had much time so I haven't edited my site or logged into the server for a year. I went on my site today and noticed directory browsing is now enabled for some reason. I checked the .htaccess file and noticed Options -Indexes was commented out. I never touched this .h...
