To correct you scraze wine cannot run photoshop unfortunately.

And it all depends on the distro you get. I recommend Ubuntu, it's the most widely supported and most popular. It is very easy for n00bs and works fine with older machines.

*ahem* this is from October of last year.

Anyway i get the same thing with Backtrack. when i boot it i go to the Vesa KDE or something like that. i cannot remember too well but it worked.
