Re: What do you believe in?

I'll put my two cents in this. I guess I take the agnostic approach. If a deity can come from nothing, then why can't a universe? Then you have evolution and carbon dating, which show the world to be a lot older than most religious texts state it to be. But religion says it can't be proven or dispro...

Re: Recreational Drug Use

LSD for medical purposes? Research has shown LSD to be prominent in recovery for alcoholism. It is also used to treat cluster headaches. Moderate use is a primary key in anything, even too much water can be bad for you. I would rather someone use a substance and have a meaningful experience instead...

Re: When is it O.K. to hack?

Adult sites exploiting minors, fraudulent sites, etc. It all depends on the person, really. Some feel it's never okay to attack a website while others feel it's fine to try and take down every site they come across. What do you mean by hacking? As in just taking the site down, or something like taki...

Re: ethics and morality in a dying relationship?

So my question is, is it right for me to hack into the girl's account? You asked for the morality and ethical views for this. Ethically, it would not be considered inappropriate for you to know of your husband's whereabouts. Morally, it is considered wrong to break into someones account. I haven't ...

Re: Censorship

Ha, the Grapes of Wrath ban reason is hilarious. My personal opinion on censorship is that I think everyone should be entitled to speaking about what they please, and if you don't agree with it, don't listen and try to find something to complain about. I think everyone should have the right to speak...

Re: Censorship

Thanks for the replies so far. I enjoy hearing opinions from others that support intellectual freedom. And an even greater time to demonstrate that those with power can abuse it! Seriously though, look how easy that was. Any forum mod can change just about any post at any time. Imagine if that power...

Censorship

Hey everybody, I noticed the Ethics section of the site was getting kinda slow, and I like hearing everyone's opinion, so I wanted to ask everyone about their opinions on censorship. Censorship is the blocking of any material that may be obscene or morally questionable to someone who might view it, ...

Re: Recreational Drug Use

Albert Hoffman, whose birthday happened to be today, was the father of LSD. He stated that LSD was a very positive experience if the right amount was consumed. He said that he wanted everyone to learn something upon experiencing LSD, rather than just consuming it purposelessly. And I agree, I think ...

Re: Recreational Drug Use

I think recreational drug use should be legalized, but people should only participate in it in a safe environment out of the way of others so they will not pose a threat. It's your body, and in my opinion, you should be able to do whatever you want with it as long as it doesn't affect the health of ...
