IRC Mission 5

I would like to know if someone could give me a bump in the right direction.

I believe I have found the command necessary to give moo his IP to me, however it just gives me 127.0.0.1. Other commands give me my own hostname.

NVM.. it got miraculously fixed x.x lol

Re: App 9

IMO olly was easier to use than a hex-editor, because you can see where you have to edit things :D. If my suspicions are correct the original poster of this thread was editing the wrong thing. Just keep in mind with OllyDebug to use the Analyze button, or else you might freak out when you edit stuff...

Re: How can i use the hack missions of the website?

Things will become even easier if you use something like web developer tools for Firefox.
This addon allows you to apply changes to the website without having to create a seperate .html file.

It's client-side though, so don't expect to wreck anything with it like *snap* that.

Re: hexadecimal

hexadecimal is a fancy way to access memoryaddresses, or to translate ascii.

eg.: When you have a link with a space in it it will be turned into %20.

I don't really know whether there's a way to destroy a site with it though, though In my eyes it seems highly unlikely.

Re: Animation Programs

Didn't they stop development on GMax though? From what I've seen XSI has a very nice animation system built in. Maya and 3dsmax are nice as well, though I use maya more than 3dsmax. Takes a while to master the Maya one, but when you do it can save you lots of time. (Though the biggest problem is to ...

Re: remote access to computers

The same for *all*?
This is hardly ever the case.
They probably all share the same external IP, but the internal IP of the pc's should be different.

Cryptography Missions

A few years back I was on this site on an other account, and I can swear that I saw cryptography missions. So if I am actually right and not just confusing this with another site. 1.: What happened to the crypto missions? 2.: Are they still available somewhere? If I am wrong and I confused this with...

Re: Identifying hash types?

Various hashes have a set length, however I do not know these, I'd have to search.

Also MDCrack gives an estimate guess on what kind of hash something is when you give it one to crack.

Re: remote access to computers

As for how / why it would help.

Windows has a command prompt that allows you to execute various commands, depending on the restrictions set in place.
a .BAT will automatically execute all the commands written within the .bat, allowing for an automated shutdown on a PC.

Re: hexadecimal

Exactly what do you want to learn about hexadecimal?

I mean just hexadecimal could mean you just want to learn how to count from 0 to 15 xD
