The evidence is now clear: FOX News was right,
the war on Christmas is real! The NSA
stole and abused Santa's technology for their own nefarious purposes, thereby directly assaulting
capitalism Christmas at its core. Those damn socialist atheists!
All jokes aside, it has been one hell of a year, most especially for civil rights and hacktivism. A progressive Pope stepped in, gun control and
Stand Your Ground were hotly debated, a bombing reignited Islamophobia, and easy access to affordable healthcare (something
all industrialized nations have, except the United States) was obstructed to a level of sedition bordering on domestic terrorism. On a similar note, in what seems to be an attempt by the government to wipe its ass as disgustingly and disrespectfully as possible with the Constitution, it was revealed that
the NSA prefers to think of us all as terrorists.
HackThisSite founder
Jeremy Hammond was sentenced by a
strongly-biased judge to ten years for an act of civil disobedience and protest under an abusive application of the 27-year-old and extremely outdated Computer Fraud and Abuse Act. Reddit co-founder
Aaron Swartz committed suicide rather than face a similar fate under the same law. Sadly, the same unfortunate ending befell
two members of the HackThisSite community who were incredible and important, not only to us, but to many others. They will be sorely missed.
This year was a
big year for
protesting, the world is
reacting boldly and
necessarily to the United States spying policies, and we have gotten
much closer to real equal rights.
It really has been a crazy year, has it not? But, as they say, to hell with this year and on with the next! May its odds be ever in our favor.
Happy holidays from all of us at HackThisSite.org!
P.S.: For good measure and to end on a high note, enjoy
this Santa comic from one of our favorites, Cyanide & Happiness.
P.P.S.: Look at the ID number of this news post. Coincidence? Aliens?
Nope.
