HackThisSite.org News: Scheduled HTS Downtime

HackThisSite's Data Center has issued a Server Relocation/Power Supply Unit End-Of-Life Notification to all of its customers, HackThisSite included. Nothing major is being done, aside from physically moving the HTS systems from one side of the Data Center to the other. They will also be replacing the HackThisSite servers' power supplies as a precaution since it is nearing its End-Of-Life mark, just to make sure it does not fail at any point in the near future.

This scheduled downtime will affect ALL hosted HackThisSite websites, projects, and subprojects (Forums, RootThisBox, etc.). It will NOT affect the HackThisSite IRC Network.

The move is scheduled for the morning of Wednesday, June 25th, 2008. The official schedule is as follows (quoted directly from the Data Center):
12:01 AM - 1:00 AM EST* - Systems will be brought offline and moved to
the new data center location (est downtime ~15 min)
1:01 AM - 5:00 AM EST* - Systems will be brought offline once again to
replace the PSU unit and any other scheduled hardware maintenance (est
downtime ~25 min per server)

However, due to the intricacies of the HackThisSite systems, we will be taking the server offline at 11:30 PM EST on Tuesday, June 24th, 2008 (3:30 AM GMT). We expect it to be back online no later than 5:00 AM EST (9:00 AM GMT). We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Hey, at least for once, we have planned downtime!
