Sometimes, for reasons best known only to Microsoft, Windows Vista will hide files in your folders. With a little practice, you can too!
Just do what I do.

1) Open any folder.
2) Click the "Organize" Button on the top
3) Choose "Folder and Search Options
4) Go to the "View" tab
5) Click the "Hidden Files and Folders folder.
6) Select "View hidden Files and folders"
7 ) Click Apply

Now look at your folder. Where did all those new files come from? They were there the whole time, you just couldn't see them!
If this doesn't work, just PM me. You'll get a full refund. ;)
Sincerely,

You'd be surprised how many people don't, actually. I met a programmer a couple days ago who had no idea. That's what prompted me to write the article.

Ah fair enough. But then again, is there much point posting this without some info on what you can do with them? :?:
I'm not too sure myself how useful they can be, apart from perhaps a "file restorer" tool, that brings back deleted files.

I guess you could use it as a "file-hider" tool, in case your computer was raided by the FBI and you have some tool you want to hide. (It happens more than you would think, you know ;) )

Ohh I wasn't talking about hiding your own personal files.
No, I think one of the first things the FBI would do after viewing all your unhidden files is move onto hidden files. They would need to do this anyway to view temp files to view deleted files etc.
The only real way to hold data without the FBI finding it if they searched your computer is using steganography or really really good custom encryption.
Better still is not to get caught :P

Hmm the FBI would more than likely pwn you if you were hiding files on your computer by making them hidden.

Yeah, what I imagine they'd do is have a list of every file an operating system puts on a computer and then take them away from a list of every file on the computer. Then perhaps have a list for a few known programs and then, after that, go through each and every file remaining. If you've got naughty stuff on there, you've been caught basically.
