Hey wasn't sure where to put this, as it could come under,Hardware and Software.
A few hours ago my laptop got knocked off the sofa and fell about 1Ft it was running at the time and it Froze and the battery was only just connected. So i turned it off put the battery back in and rebooted it.
Now im getting this message pop up.
For Realtek RTL8139(X)/8130/810X PCI Fast Ethernet Controller v2.17 (051202)
PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-MOF: Exiting PXE ROM.
Operating system not found
after about 2 minutes of displaying that message it shuts it self off.
I've checked the cable that runs to the harddrive that seems to be fine and HDD its self seems ok from the outside.
I really don't know what to do now so im asking you guys if you have any idea what it could be. I personally think its the HDD, and needs replacing but thats going to cost about £55 so i want to be sure im right.
Its a Acer Aspire 5050, running on Windows Vista home premium unfortunatly lol.
need more info just ask.
Thanks.
