First one:

i^2 = (-1)^2 = -1 * -1 = 1

Second one:

a=b so (a-b) = 0. You can't divide by 0.

i^2 = (-1)^2 = -1 * -1 = 1

you're wrong on the first one, i is a complex operator, defined as the squareroot of -1, so i²=-1

Ah yeah, I shouldn't post things when I can barely keep my eyes open. The issue is that you can't split the sqrt((-1)*(-1)).

Doesn't hold for negative numbers to split it into two sqrts.
