fun with maths

([msg=73695]see fun with maths[/msg])

just some stuff to find out what is wrong, not that hard:

Code: Select all
         1=sqrt(1)
           =sqrt((-1)*(-1))
           =sqrt(-1)*sqrt(-1)
           =i*i
           =i²
           =-1

Code: Select all
a=b
a^2=ab
2a^2=a^2+ab
2a^2-2ab=a^2-ab
2a(a-b)=a(a-b)
2a=a
2=1

First one:
i^2 = (-1)^2 = -1 * -1 = 1

Second one:
a=b so (a-b) = 0. You can't divide by 0.

you're wrong on the first one, i is a complex operator, defined as the squareroot of -1, so i²=-1

Ah yeah, I shouldn't post things when I can barely keep my eyes open. The issue is that you can't split the sqrt((-1)*(-1)).
Doesn't hold for negative numbers to split it into two sqrts.
