How to Stop a DoS attack help?

What's the best way to setup a home network? Why should I care about BGP?

Try requesting an IP change from your hoster. There is also some item you can download named Zblock that is supposed to help with security.

If you are experiencing a DoS attack then try blocking the incoming IP, if you're getting DDoSed then probably look into switching providers.

Changing his IP would help temporarily. If he logs in again, the same people are sniffing his IP and doing the same thing. We told him how to make the switch to a dynamic IP above. He needs a way to connect through the game client making sure his IP is 'masked' first.
If you're not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you're determined to learn, no one can stop you.⠠⠵
The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
I can explain it for you, but I can't understand it for you.
