Hey im trying to get into IRC and it wont let me it , i Download IRC Set it up "pretty sure i set it up right" and then came to the website Click on IRC it open the program ask me What name i want to use , I put in the name Clicked Connect and it sayss
Connecting to irc.hackthissite.org (+7000)

I always loved computers as a kid But Could never learn how to hack/networking because of my Reading/Writing skills Now im back after a couple of years still not that good But alot better then before! THANK YOU For your help:D

Try a non-SSL port such as 6667 or 8068...

Port 7000 should work. That's the port I use. Make sure you have everything setup correctly. Make sure your router allows that kind of traffic to flow through it. Other than that, it should work. If it doesn't, try connecting non-SSL. If you get that to work, then switch back to SSL.

mShred, I'm thinking its his client that doesn't like SSL in the current settings.
Port 6667 should work fine.

How would i check if my Router is allowing it?

What IRC client are you using? Placing the port in parenthesis may be messing it up...
instead of using:
irc.hackthissite.org (+7000)
try something like this:
irc.hackthissite.org:7000
or
irc.hackthissite.org+7000

That's not what he typed. He most likely put in irc.hackthissite.org:7000 or irc.hackthissite.org/7000 (Xchat). (+7000) is just what it shows when trying to connect.

Yeah, I just tried it from my end. SSL seems to not be working for me as well.

Edit: They've been working on some IRC configuration stuff as well as moving around mustang (one of the irc servers). If it doesn't work, try again or hard code hub or spider (.irc.hackthissite.org). Make sure your client supports SSL or use 6667.
