but i was thinking it might be cool if we could do karma/thanks for forum posts and articles... a lot of times i'll be lurking around the forums and i've come across some gems, honestly...it's just too cumbersome/awkward to go through making an entire post just to say 'nice!' every single time...but i would like to give the kudos....

I think the main issue it doesn't go through is because you get corruption in the system. Apparently HackForums does this and it happens often enough that you will post accurate information only to get thumbs down, especially if you contradict what a popular forum member says even though you know they are full of BS.
