Thanks for you help fas. No you haven't done my homework either.

tgoe i felt a bit shy you saying that chap. The two bits of code that fas guided me with is def not all i have to do, especially being at University level. I only ask for help when I've been stuck countless hours, I apologize if it seemed that way fas.
I wont ask many questions like that again as I do generally like to figure things out myself. Many apologies.

No worries. I didn't feel like I was doing your homework or anything. They were basic questions. Plus there's a lot to do with those basics you'll have to figure out yourself.

Thanks man! Yeh I'm kinda figuring that as i go along (basics first), Python seems a bitch compared to Java though that i can say gracefully!

Python worse than Java? Not sure how that's possible. :P

Ha ha! Your probs right. I love Java! It just seems Python is a step back?!?!

However before Uni I asked Tutor what language we would be using, bear in mind I never done any languages before I tried my damnedest to learn as much before first term. so I had a step above rest at Uni, which I have practical wise. Then They decide Python, to throw in mix, I see their point, but its weird changing languages so quick as I haven't fully grasped Java. They say if you learnt one language fluently then switching should come naturally! Do you agree or dis-agree??

Switching will be a bit tricky but will be much easier once you already know a good deal about programming. Python's oddest features are the syntax (which I personally like). Python and Java are very different and one cannot say the other is a "step back".

Yeh my friend said the same, as he is an ex zx spectrum programmer, he says once you grasp knowledge of one language then others should come easy, as it the syntax you have to get used to!

Ive been programming for 1 year exactly with very brief knowledge of Visual basic 6 and HTML and CSS.
Java I love and been doing for 6 months and seem to grasp easy compared to Python.

Here is one website I created for a business, this was part of my last assignment at college bear in mind it was 4 weeks to learn HTML and CSS, http://www.cleanandable.net (P.S Distinctions through for that Unit which I loved as a first timer :) )

am 31 and only just got into computing in last 1.3 years hence n00bish questions.
Thanks

"Learn python the hard way". It's not hard. Just concise.
