gmail senders ip address

hi, im trying to find the ip address of someone who sent me an email through gmail... ive read through the sorce page, but not having any luck... if anyone knows where i could find this, that would be awesome...

Unless the mail was send from a local mail cliend like Outlook, Evolution or Thunderbird. You will not be able to see the IP of the sender. But if it has been send from a local client, you should be able to find it in the mail header.

ok, cheers.. im on the verge of giving up.. but not just yet.. im doing it for a friend whos getting some un called for,strange emails from this person/company.

Not totally sure what you're asking here...
To view the headers on gmail you should:
• Log in to your Gmail account.
• Open the message you want to view headers for.
• Click the Down arrow next to the Reply button, located at the top right of the message pane.
• Select Show Original.
It would contain the senders ip.
However, most email providers (including gmail, but I think yahoo doesn't) strip that data if the mail was sent from their servers to protect users privacy. In which case you'd only see the ip of the mail server, not the actual person.
So is this an email coming from gmail, going to gmail or both? whats the deal here O.O

the sender is sending emails from a gmail.com email address..

the receiver is a polish email address.( onet.eu ). as i said, im doing this for a friend.. ive even tryed hacking the senders gmail address, but thats proving a nightmare too :/.. my friend has a feeling he knows who it is, but hes not 100% sure. hence why hes ask me to do some digging..
