Yeah, I used a hacked hardware driver once to get an SD card to be partitioned (long story, needed a FAT partition and wanted to use the other space too). Windows saw the card as an external HDD, so it would be possible to partition it. Problem was: only after installing the hacked driver would it make itself known as two partitions. Using the first partition for saving the driver worked, but I'd still need admin access to install on different computers. Didn't work quite as well as I'd hoped. So, if you're into drivers, you can just make or download one if you really need a change of type.
