feminism.org got "hacked"

Yes, it seems that the username and password for feminism.com where both admin, causing the site to be "hacked".

How they throw the word around kills me inside.

(kind of funny though, honestly)

Also, I, nor anybody I know, nor anybody connected to this website caused problems with the website "feminism.org", and are not to be held responsible.

Lol those guys are little behind the power curve... again lmao. A few of us got the word about it last night when it first happened. Rather entertaining to watch :lol:
But 4chan is the culprit here.

Yeah you are right. Looks like a simple guess for the login credentials. But a defacement is still a defacement.

Just checked, thread already 404'd. To no surprise by now.

Yes, I do remember 4chan's name being thrown around a bit. Funny part was when I saw something like "example and example2 hacked this site!". Had a chuckle there. Last thing I remember when seeing that website was when I was trying not to go in to shock as seizure inducing flashes took my entire screen.

Any news on what is going to happen now?

There hasn't been any statements that I have seen yet. The javascript alert stating IP recording being sent to the FBI scared a lot of people off. I thought it was the admin attempting to regain control. Ended up just being part of the troll though. I'm really surprised the site hasn't been brought down yet to be honest. If you lose control that bad you need to pull the plug for a moment and figure out where you fucked up.

Hmm, lets think for a sec;

We teach everyone in the first 3 missions to test out all these simple things and also just trying the admin/admin thing. Given at least 1000 new people learn this stuff every year, and then go out and try it at least once (I know I have). Given the size of the web, I'm surprised that we don't have dozens of these instances every month.

Lol you have a valid point. I'm sure it happens a lot but they usually go unnoticed. I've looked into a few smaller hacker groups that keep lists of defacements and its usually pretty simple. But most of them are sites nobody has ever really heard of. The only difference this time is that the security flaw was posted on 4chan and right after it first happened it was getting changed so fast that every time you hit refresh everything was different. That and it was feminism.org...

Lol. I told limdis last night that it ain't hackin! Or at least not any cool hackin. But replied 'a defacement is a defacement'. So that is true. Humorous to watch, yes.

A hack's a hack.. now my clients and coworkers wonder why i'm so anal about effective user/pwd combos.. this is a great example. Then again, I never found feminists to be all that bright.
