Depends on the webcam model, depends on the OS, depends on your access level, and depends on your determination.

If there's a will, there's a way.

Please do elaborate OP.

If its an IP camera just to access it just requires to know some HTTP (Just do an http Request and download the JPEG), this is usualy for unprotected IP cameras, or public ones. For protected ones its a little more ificult since it requires an username and a password.
More info here:
http://www.w3.org/Protocols/rfc2616/rfc2616.html

Ecample:
Accessing this image:http://192.168.1.2/axis-cgi/jpg/image.cgi
Code: Select all
GET /axis-cgi/jpg/image.cgi HTTP/1.1
Host:192.168.1.2

or Accessing a Video:http://192.168.1.2/axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi
Code: Select all
GET /axis-cgi/mjpg/video.cgi HTTP/1.1
Host:192.168.1.2

The recv usually is the video stream or the image(depending on what you access), but you really need to know the camera model(since the links differs from model to model).

So accessing an IP camera with password is accessing an link like this:
http://username:password@192.168.1.2/ax ... /image.cgi

For the web camera you first need to gain access to the persons computer, and then access its webcam, and stream the data to your computer.

Depending on what programming language you know, you must first know how to capture from a webcam(Java has JMF library, C/C++ has tones of library's);
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library ... 85%29.aspx
http://lwn.net/Articles/203924/

This stuff more depends on what operating system he has.

Quick question, do you own the camera you're attempting to break into?

ghost107, thanks for your answer. seems complicated though haha but will look into it still :). gaining access to a computer still a newbie, so bare with me taking time on that. didn't know C++ can do such task. If can, I would like to learn using Backtrack coz it's more fun ><. Anyways, thanks and will update here if there's a progress.

centip3de, i don't own the camera, my father does. lol.....My bro is using currently :)
