I had no idea that it did this as I thought if you tried to open a 1 on 1 sessions with someone your IP would still be protected by the server. How can I hide my IP from other users of IRC?
Your IP will always be protected. Opening a private session with someone will not give them your IP. The only people who can see users IP's are the people called opers, essentially HTS admins. But that said, if you're visiting a site that someone posted, they could easily be logging your IP.
