OP thanks for starts this thread up. I've been learning somethings reading up on all this 8-)

Question: I have several movies that I ripped to my hardrive a while back, and since then my car was broken into and the my cd case was stolen. Say I wanted to reburn those movies back onto DVDs so when the lady friend comes over we can watch on the TV. I've tried this before but have run into issues with sizing and quality problems. Would the initial rip be cause of that or did I miss something when reburning?

I obviously cannot answer that, but I might be able to spark an idea for you. If you have a flash drive or external, you can play your movies on your tv using several different methods. You can use an xbox 360 if you have one. (you have to reformat your flash drive or external to FAT32) A lot of newer tv's have USB ports built in, so maybe check to see if you do. Also, you can get a cord to connect your computer to your tv. Sometimes the latter is inconvenient though. I typically either use one of my tv's USB ports or my HDMI cord.
A broken clock is right twice a day, however, I am neither up that early nor up that late...
