security out of the box

I've been playing with ubuntu server using virtual box to get my feet wet. I've got ssh, lamp and phpbb running on it and I'm wondering, if i set up this server on a physical machine and exposed it to the world wide web, are there any security vulnerabilities that come with default out of the box settings?
