I figured it was just that important. But no thanks, I wouldn't have caught that.

^ This is why I have only recently began posting in the forums, 99% of the time you can find the answer you are looking for if you take 5 min and read through the threads. Personally, I learn more just trying to find my answer in the forums; which is win.

You sure about that? There's a difference between having a solid foundation and being spoon fed answers. The forums can be a great place to to find an answer avoiding the requirement of years worth of reading and experience, but it's dangerous to rely on....

Then again, seeing as how there generally aren't forums posts on "Hi guise, how d0 I h4x0r randompornsite.com?" so you may in fact end up being safer...

Sry to be so harsh, but I'm trying to make a point.

That is very true, but most spoon fed answers - Especially in the mission threads - are frowned upon and censored when actually posted. Although some do fall through the cracks. It just depends on how helpful or detrimental you see "helpful hints", I suppose. I feel like I've personally learned quite a bit just from reading around the forums.
One of these days there's gonna be a real profound quote down here.

True, true. But the forums are at their best when they give you a general direction to look. i.e apache SSI, or linux directories.

But for you to get the most, you'd either have to spend the time to go setup a LAMP system, mess around with it for awhile, do some web develpment learning php, js and html. Then maybe moving on to some basic scripting (vbs, powershell, bash, perl etc) and maybe a little experience writing C programs. [Or have had experience with these technologies in the past]

If you get a solid foundation like this, you may still need help from the forums (as sometimes EXACTLY what the mission is looking for is a little ambiguous considering the missions are actually scripted to respond to certain input for the most part. You're not ACTUALLY hacking the missions). You may be able to discovered the solution to the missions from the forums without understand exactly WHY these are the correct solutions, especially when taken within the context of the mission....

This simple fact could lead to issues later on if you plan to take your skills....else where shall we say.

Btw, just to clarify, I'm not arguing with you, I was just try to illustrate the point I was attempting to make further.

All this is WAY OFF topic though. If this post doesn't get 'culled', let me just say, lets get back to the point =)

It's cool, I didn't take anything as being harsh. As you said above^ is what I meant by looking through the forums instead of just posting "how do I do ____ ?" When I said that I learn more from combing through the forums it is because you can get more of a general direction to look and with that direction leads to your own research and learn more than just is going on in said mission. Nobody learns anything from being spoon fed answers other than the answer for that particular mission; which in itself means you pretty much learned nothing if you have no idea what you did.

For anyone who is going to the end of the thread instead of reading through this monster:

It's a Perl script in a UNIX environment. Look up UNIX commands and a Perl tutorial. Hello World should be enough for you to understand how to exploit it.

I'm almost positive that something is not right. Could someone take a look at it. There is no calendar showing up for me.

You are right.
There is some behind-the-scenes-stuff going on, so it's most likely related to that. Be patient ;)
