This isn't the thread to ask for help, and this kind of thing is against our ToS anyway. We don't want any legal trouble.
Assume that everything I say is or could be a lie.

I want to learn

Post by phlek on Wed Apr 27, 2011 4:58 pm
([msg=56718]see I want to learn[/msg])

I think this posting is a great idea, a motivation for forward progression.
:I want to learn pearl, or python. all I'm looking for is just a proficient programing language.
:I want to learn how to become a great social engineer, and find ways to practice.
:I want to learn how to take full advantage of my operating system or switch to a better one (currently using Ubuntu)
:I want to learn the different attacks and the counters
Finally I want to learn how to move from Scriptkitty to the next level. I'm glad I found this forum, I was worried that a Google search would turn me in the wrong direction for this search. I'm going to be doing some creeping around to help me with my topics but if anyone knows some great write ups I should consider please send my way.

As general as this sounds(only because I don't know of the certain requirements), I want to complete every mission on this site and continue to expand my knowledge of computers and networks.

However, I am a basic beginner.

If anyone can send me a few links on learning JS and HTML(I got w3school.com already), anything is much appreciated!

([msg=59138]see Re: I want to learn - I have learned[/msg])

What I brought:
Some programming experience (C/C++, Python, ActionScript... Kinda.)
- A teeny-tiny bit of Javascript knowledge
- An even tinier bit of Assembly
Knowledge of Binary, Hexadecimal, Octal and BCD
Some HTML knowledge
Some Linux/Unix knowledge
Basic computer knowledge
A ~$500 computer

What I want to learn:
More programming and HTML
What drives people to be black hats and kiddie-scripters and how to avoid both paths
How to find vulnerabilities and exploits and how to counter or fix them both physically and virtually
How to use non-harmful exploits in ways to make interesting programs that push the boundaries of current machines
How to take apart programs to learn more about how they work and how to improve them

How to post properly. (Seriously, this is the third time I edited this because I forgot something or misspelled something...)

What I learned:
The basics on this site
... That's it right now...
