Newb's questions of missions...

Ok, I'm feeling VEEEEERYYY stupid and noob now!
I'm a Portuguese 15 year old... well... teen trying to learn how to hack and I'm too confused: I'm trying to solve the basic 1 mission for 3 days now, after reading all "official" HTS newb guides and still didn't get it.

The "password" is exactly what? A word from the source code? A sentence from the source code? A file?
If it is a word, how do I found out if a certain option, is in fact, the right one? where do I type in that word, is there even a text field where i can input it?
I have a clue about the answer, it's a comment, isn't it? I just have no idea of witch one of the comments is the right one.

Help would be appreciated

okay hai,
First of all im another 15 y.o and i have done the first five basic missions with relative ease (havent tried others yet). Anyway for some reason when on mission 1, i can see the password in the source, but when i look for it in firebug i can't see it!
Why not?

Firebug doesn't always like to give comments. There is a toggle switch though.

I've been doing the basic missions and got to lvl 7. I can easily find out how to do it, but I'd really like to know why it works so I could apply it to something else. Otherwise I just feel like I'm not learning anything and am just going through the motions. If anyone would be nice enough to point me to some helpful sites or anything I'd be very grateful.

1. Don't necro.

2. I assume you mean basic 7. It has its own help thread, you should've posted there.

3. I find color text annoying, and I'm sure I'm not the only one here. You shouldn't color your text unless you have a good reason to do so.

4. You need to read up on UNIX commands. Search for something like "UNIX commands" or "BASH tutorial". If you have a specific question that you can't post, you can PM me, but I may take a couple days to respond.

Sorry if I put the post in the wrong thread, but what I was trying to say is where should I start in order to get a basic understanding of things in general so that I could apply them to future missions. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear on that. I wasn't aware there was a problem with using text colors or restrictions, I'll refrain from using them as to not irritate others.
